All registrants are reminded to renew your annual practising certificates
that will expire on 30 June each year. In accordance with section
16 of the Supplementary Medical Professions Ordinance, no registrant
should practise his/her profession in Hong Kong unless he/she holds
a practising certificate that is then in force. |

All registrants should keep the Secretary to the Physiotherapists
Board informed of your updated correspondence/practising address(es)
within two months of such a change. |

Companies carrying on the business of practising physiotherapy are
reminded to provide the requested information with the Secretary to
the Physiotherapists Board by completing the prescribed statement
form within 14 days after 1 July in each year. |

Under section 11 of the Supplementary Medical Professions Ordinance,
a list of the names, addresses, qualifications and dates of the qualifications
of all persons whose names appear on the register has to be published
annually in the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative
Region Gazette. The correspondence address that you provide to the
Physiotherapists Board will appear in the Gazette and on the relevant
Government website where the e-Gazette is published. The names and
the registration numbers of registrants will also be posted on the
website (www.smp-council.org.hk/pt/english/index.htm)
of the Physiotherapists Board. The main purpose of publishing such
information is to protect the public by creating a public record of
persons who are registered physiotherapists and are entitled to practise
the profession in Hong Kong. |

Implementation of Five-day Week Duty Pattern for the Physiotherapists
Board Secretariat
The Secretariat of the Physiotherapists Board will move to the
five-day week duty pattern commencing from 1 January 2007.
The new opening hours of the Secretariat and its registration office
will be from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Mondays and 9:00 a.m. -
5:45 p.m. from Tuesdays to Fridays, with meal break fixed at 1:00
p.m. - 2:00 p.m.. Other service arrangements, e.g. handling
of registration applications and correspondences to the Physiotherapists
Board by mail, payment of registration fees and other related expenses,
handling of enquiries and complaints, etc. will remain unchanged
and will be provided during the above-mentioned new opening hours.

New Arrangement for
Application for Restoration of Name to the Register of Physiotherapists
(with effect from 1 September 2008)

Submission of annual CPD return
Registrants are invited to report on their attendance of CPD activities
during the period from 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010
by submitting a duly completed CPD
record form to the secretariat on or before
31 July 2010 either by mail (Secretariat,
Physiotherapists Board, 2/F, Shun Feng International Centre, 182
Queen's Road East, Wan Chai, Hong Kong) or by fax
(no. 2865 5540). A certificate will be issued to those participants
who had accumulated at least 15 CPD credit points for the year.
Subject to consent given by registrants in the CPD record form,
the Board will post on the Board¡¦s website the name and registration
number of those who have attained 15 or more CPD points in the year.
Please note that a number of CPD participants will be randomly selected
for in-depth study of their CPD attainment record. The participants
concerned will be requested to submit the supporting documents of
the CPD activities attended in due course. |
