Functions

The Radiographers Board was established under the Supplementary Medical Professions Ordinance, Chapter 359, Laws of Hong Kong, in 1981. With the enactment of the Radiographers (Registration and Disciplinary Procedure) Regulation, Chapter 359 subsidiary legislation H, Laws of Hong Kong, registration of the profession of radiographers commenced on 1 July 1995 while disciplinary control of the profession was effective on 1 November 1996.

The functions of the Radiographers Board are:

(i)     to maintain a register of radiographers;
(ii)     to promote adequate standards of professional practice and of professional conduct among registered radiographers; and
(iii)     to carry out the functions assigned to it by the Ordinance.
